dePresno

26-year-old Bjarte dePresno Borthen is a musician from Bergen on the west coast of Norway. Under his recording name dePresno, he's known for the unique depth of his voice, a gorgeous baritone, and releases. In the almost five years since his debut single "Friend of the Devil" dePresno has established a career in Norway as an artist and songwriter who combines critical acclaim with commercial appeal. 4 June sees the release of his best work to date, the new album Places.

Normally dePresno would spend most of the year travelling, whether on tour, in music studios or simply for the adventure. And wherever he is, he finds inspiration.

  • Following on from the 2019 debut album(s) Monochrome/Technicolour, dePresno has refocused his music. Always an artist who takes influences from a variety of genres, he has become a mature songwriter on his latest release Places. "I do feel like this is a renaissance, a new start for me," says dePresno. "It’s quite a diverse record theme-wise, and musically." The thing that links the tracks, which go from Country, to R&B to indie to pop and back again is dePresno's rich and deep voice, the sound of molten honey, or a fine matured bourbon. "I feel like I could do a lot and it would still sound like me because of the voice," laughs the Norwegian.

The latest tv appearance at NRK «De Neste» - dePresno is one who can also interpret other artists works in a way that makes artists and songwriters cry.

Growing up in a family out of the ordinary has made him extraordinarily open, accepting and curious.
